As Art Director for Simi-Wear, Inc., the world’s leading OEM manufacturer of cycling and motocross apparel, I designed apparel, produced samples, and pioneered techniques that helped change the action-sports apparel industry. I experimented with dye-sublimation while the technology was still in its infancy and developed designs that transformed entire garments into graphic canvases. My work included cycling, BMX, and motocross apparel for internationally recognized brands including Santini, Miyata, Haro, Mongoose, Hallman Racing, Motocross Fox, Husqvarna, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda.
I landed the position by winning a design competition while a student at Platt College in San Diego and became Simi-Wear’s sole designer. At the time, sports apparel typically featured separate logos printed on the chest and sleeves. I realized that because we manufactured the garments, we could print the fabric panels before assembly, allowing graphics to flow across virtually the entire garment. By treating all that previously unused real estate as a canvas, I helped redefine how graphics and branding were integrated into action-sports apparel. I later brought the same full-garment design approach to the bodyboarding industry.

I continue to create and sell apparel online. These are a few of my designs. I work almost exclusively in Adobe Illustrator.
